What is Permit-to-Work Training?
Permit-to-Work (PTW) training explains the formal control process used for hazardous or non-routine work. It helps permit issuers, receivers, area owners and supervisors understand that a permit is not simply a form: it is a documented agreement that defines the work, hazards, isolations, precautions, validity, interfaces, monitoring and hand-back conditions.
Training does not itself authorise participants to issue or receive permits. The client must define appointment, competency assessment, supervision and site authorisation requirements within its PTW system.

How Safety Zest delivers the training
Safety Zest reviews the client’s PTW procedure and forms before delivery when available. The programme is then adapted to work types such as hot work, confined space, electrical work, excavation, lifting, work at height or line breaking. Participants analyse realistic permit examples, find missing controls, practise role interactions and work through changes, emergencies and hand-back situations. The facilitator separates site-specific rules from general good practice.
The proposal confirms the audience or site, inputs, duration, deliverables and exclusions before mobilisation. This keeps expectations clear and makes the output relevant to actual work.
