Faster coordinated action
Give incident controllers, wardens, responders and employees clear initial actions and escalation paths.
Create a practical emergency plan that connects credible scenarios, trained roles, reliable communication and tested site arrangements.
Service overview
An Emergency Response Plan (ERP) defines how a site will recognise, communicate and control emergencies while protecting people, the environment, assets and business continuity. A useful plan is site-specific: it reflects the actual hazards, occupancy, shifts, layout, response resources, neighbouring risks and external-support arrangements rather than relying on a generic template.
Business and safety value
Give incident controllers, wardens, responders and employees clear initial actions and escalation paths.
Prepare for credible events such as fire, chemical release, medical emergency, utility failure or natural hazard.
Clarify alarms, routes, assembly areas, accountability and support for visitors or people needing assistance.
Use drills, debriefs and action tracking to test whether the written arrangements work in practice.
Our approach
Safety Zest reviews the facility profile, risk information and existing emergency arrangements, then consults site stakeholders to identify credible scenarios and available resources. We map roles, command structure, alarms, internal and external communication, evacuation, rescue interfaces and recovery steps. Draft arrangements are walked through with the client, and the plan is refined around real shift coverage, contact information and operational constraints. Drill planning and review can be added to test readiness.
Before work starts, the proposal identifies the locations, interfaces, inputs, deliverables and exclusions. This keeps expectations clear and helps the client arrange access to the right people and records.
Included activities
| Workstream | What it covers |
|---|---|

| Response actions | Alarm, shutdown, isolation, firefighting interface, spill control, rescue, medical aid and escalation. |
| Evacuation | Routes, exits, assembly points, headcount, visitors, contractors and assistance arrangements. |
| Coordination | Emergency contacts, mutual aid, hospitals, fire services, police, authorities and communication templates. |

Frequently asked questions
The scope is based on credible site scenarios and may include fire, explosion, chemical release, medical emergency, confined-space rescue, electrical incident, severe weather, earthquake, security event or major utility failure.
No. Evacuation is one part of emergency response. A complete ERP also addresses detection, alarm, command, communication, incident control, medical support, external coordination and recovery.
Mock-drill planning, facilitation and evaluation can be included as a separate or combined scope. Testing is valuable because it reveals timing, behaviour, communication and resource gaps that document review alone cannot show.
Contacts should be checked frequently and whenever personnel or agencies change. The full plan should also be reviewed after drills, incidents and material changes to hazards, occupancy, layout, resources or operations.
No consultant should guarantee an authority decision. Safety Zest develops the plan against the agreed requirements and available site information, while the client remains responsible for statutory submissions, resources and implementation unless specifically contracted otherwise.
